Key terms used in Total Battle and on this wiki.
A–C
Academy — Building that researches technologies providing permanent bonuses to combat, production, construction, and more. Keep it running 24/7.
Authority — The capacity limit that controls how many Mercenaries you can include in a march.
Barracks — Building that trains troops. Each additional Barracks adds a parallel training queue.
Capitol — Your city’s core building. Its level gates most other buildings and features.
Carter — The Crypt exploration captain. Essential for all crypt runs; bonus cap at level 300.
Cement — Clan resource produced by Clan Masons (from Stone). Required for clan building upgrades.
Clan Bonus — Stat bonus activated via Religious Tractates in the Clan Capital. Requires your city to be on clan territory.
Conflagration — Status a Fort enters after being fully destroyed. Lasts 40 hours; Fort cannot be rebuilt during this period.
Conquest Points (CP) — Earned from PvP, Shadow Invasion, and CP items. Used for Academy research and unlocking Dustan.
Crypt — Dungeon explored using Tar. Yields crafting materials in Common, Rare, and Epic tiers.
D–G
Dominance — The capacity limit that controls how many Monster-type troops you can include in a march.
Dragon — A special unit that cannot die in battle. Adds Dominance-slot power. Levelled via Dragon Treats and Dragon Orbs.
Dragon Keys — Required for Rare Crypts. Obtained by defeating Elven Citadels on the World Map.
Dustan — The Conquest Points captain. Passive bonus; keep in city. Bonus cap at level 300.
Engineer Corps — Leadership troops with bonus attack vs. fortifications (citadels, walls). Troop tiers C1–C9.
Epic Monster — A powerful world-map boss that requires stacked troops and often captain/hero participation. Source of major event rewards.
Epic Tar — Required for Epic Crypts. Earned from tournament rewards and event milestones.
Forge — Building used to craft equipment for heroes and captains.
Fort — Clan defensive structure. Protects the Clan Capital. Max 4 per clan.
Food — Resource produced by Farms. Required for troop upkeep — running out halts all troop training.
Guardsmen — Leadership troops with bonus attack vs. monsters. Troop tiers G1–G9.
H–M
Hero — Your primary commander who leads every march. Their level determines Leadership, Dominance, and Authority limits.
Heroic Monster — World-map boss requiring Hero + Captains + clan reinforcements. Near-impossible solo.
Leadership — The capacity limit controlling how many trained troops (Guardsmen, Specialists, Engineers) you can send in a march.
Mercenaries — Troops governed by your Authority limit. Attack last in combat; survive longest when stacked correctly.
Monsters (troop type) — Troops governed by your Dominance limit. Highest base attack and health. Four sub-types: Beast, Elemental, Giant, Dragon. Tiers M3–M9.
P–R
Pocket Fort — A spare Fort held in reserve for optimised defence rotation during attacks.
Portal — A march portal on the World Map. If left open, enemies can attack through it bypassing city walls. Close when not in use.
Rare Tar — Required for Rare Crypts. Obtained from Dragon Keys (dropped by Elven Citadels).
Religious Tractates — Clan resource produced by Clan Temples (from Food). Required to activate Clan Bonuses.
Revival — Bringing defeated troops back. Cost scales with troop tier and your Temple level. Higher Temple = cheaper revival.
S–Z
Scientific Tractates (Red Books) — Clan resource produced by Clan Universities (from Silver). Required for Clan Research.
Shield of Peace — Clan defensive shield that activates for 20 hours after all Forts enter Conflagration — but only if pre-charged. Must be charged proactively.
Silver — Resource produced by Mansions. Used for most transactions: troop training, revival, daily costs.
Specialists — Leadership troops with base attack doubled against other players. Tiers S1–S9.
Stacking — Combat technique where troops are arranged so cheap troops absorb damage first, allowing your strongest troops to attack more times. The most important advanced mechanic in the game.
Stror — The gathering captain. Only captain with resource gathering bonuses. Always use for gathering marches.
Tar — Consumable resource used for Common Crypt exploration. Collected from Wellspring Ruins on the World Map.
Temple — Building that reduces troop revival cost. High priority for active combat players.
Valor Points (VP) — Earned from defeating monsters, crypts, and PvP. Used to fund Academy research.
Warehouse — Building that protects resources from being looted. Keep it levelled.
Wellspring Ruins — World Map tiles that produce Tar for Common Crypt exploration.
